Resident Case Submission

Residents from Western US and Canadian programs are invited to submit their best case - we will select 8 to be presented during Spring Training with a prize provided for the top resident case ($250 US).  Don’t miss your chance to compete against residents from other programs!

Eligibility

Submission to be a presenter is open to residents in recognized dermatology residency programs from the following US states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Montana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, and Washington as well as the Western Canada provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.

Submission Guidelines

Submitted cases should have good teaching value and good clinical slides. All case submissions must be done online. Please note that a case abstract and clinical photos are required as part of the submission, not any potential presentation slides. Submissions are limited to one (1) per presenter - please send us your best case!

The submission deadline is March 1, 2025. Please note that residents should receive a confirmation email immediately after submission of the case online. If this email is not received within 5 minutes of your submission, please contact PDA at info@pacificderm.org. Case presenters will be notified by April 1, 2025.

Presentation Guidelines

Your presentation of this case should not exceed 6 minutes total which includes time for one or two questions from the audience. The moderator is instructed to cut you off if you exceed that time allotment. At the podium, you will have a microphone, laser pointer, wireless slide remote, speaker timer and a large confidence monitor right in front of the podium so that you can see exactly what is being projected onto the screen (and so you don't need to "speak to the screen").
